Solon Community Band uses music to partner with its patrons and audience by providing a musical contribution to the culture of our community. Enriching lives through musical excellence with the hope of giving back to our community the joy of music.

The Solon Community Band is an intergenerational concert band founded in 2015, dedicated to enriching lives through musical excellence and fostering a sense of community. It is directed by Laura Joss, a veteran music educator with extensive experience in orchestras and bands. The Solon Community Band practices January-August and performs a concert in the winter (February or March) and typically four outdoor concerts throughout the summer.

Our member are professionals, retirees and students from the greater Cleveland area. The ensemble brings together musicians of all ages and skill levels to perform a diverse repertoire that includes hometown favorites, American classics, and various musical styles.

Supported by organizations such as local businesses and schools, the band has become a cultural cornerstone in Solon, Ohio. It regularly hosts free concerts at venues like Bicentennial Park and Solon Community Park, creating opportunities for residents to enjoy live music under the open sky. As a 501(c)(3) organization, the band relies on community support to sustain its activities and engage audiences through its performances.
